Well, Dear Friend,
Thanks For choosing us CareerGuide.com!!!
This is the problem which majority of students have at this juncture of - passing out of 10th and getting into 11th stream. As you are good in economics, It means you are having an interest and enjoy studying Economics. One should opt the stream after10th by keeping in view- his/her talent, interest and future scopes of not just a job but a career. Economics is a very good subject and having the excellent career opportunities. As you now, Economics drives the world. Since the time of Chanakya till today, economics has been a choice of top brains. In our country, weather it is our prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh or Nobel Laureate Dr. Amritya Sen or the great Chanakya, all are economists.
Therefore, As economics is the subject of your interest, it implies that you are also good at mathematics. Before clearing any other doubt,Firstly, you must be clear about your ultimate target- ie. what you really want to become. The small step like UG & PG education stream are also important but the more important is ultimate goal and once you have it planned, you will not have any difficulty to achieve the middle level goals.
So for you, the lover of economics, the ultimate goals can be
These are some of the major career options with economics/maths. However if not in economics, you can also go for CDS (Defense services), SSC, Engineering and and other related options. So first of all decide what in life first and then accordingly "what now" should be decided.
My advice is that you should go for either Commerce or Arts Streams in your 11th & 12th studies. Then after 12th join Bachelors;course in Economics in Universities like Delhi University, Indian Institute of Economics, Kolkata Univ, Jadavpur Univ, BHU and other top universities in the country or go for the 5 year integrated course in the same. ORyou can go for bachelors course in ISI, Kolkata/ Bangalore. Then also go for PG in the same.
If your ambitions are to study from the top universities in the world, I would suggest to set for GRE/GMAT and go to study from universities like Cambridge, Harvard, California, London School of Economics, for PG studies and subsequently for PhD./Research from the same. If willing to join, IES/Banking/IAS etc, than start preparing from the final year of your UG course, crack the exam/interview and join the services.&
So here, you are the best person first; to choose your career from the above given choices. I hope your query is somehow answer and you are relaxed now. For detailed counseling, you may contact the experts from our panel at careerguide.com
