500+ Career Options
1M+ Test Taken
Dear Shreya,
The options you have in mind can all lead in different directions, or can lead to the same goal. The question you need to ask yourself is, what do you see yourself doing say five years from now; and which of these option is going to help you best to get there. Let’s talk about the options you are considering and once you have more information you will be able to decide what is best suited for you. All three options are good for different career paths.
If you pursue BBA, which is a four-year course, you will be trained to fill positions like an accountant, financial advisor, marketer, commodities trader, human resources, loan officer, real estate agent, manager at different levels of the business and of course, you can also start your own business if you want to do so. For more information regarding these careers please look here: https://www.collegeraptor.com/getting-in/articles/online-colleges/jobs-you-can-get-with-a-bachelors-of-business-administration-bba-degree/.
B. Com(honors) can be followed up with a master’s degree in commerce. Alternatively, CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA and MBA are some of the option that will be open to you as well to boost your career trajectory. For more information regarding these options, you can look here: http://www.edupristine.com/blog/career-after-bcom. If you want to change your area of study or work after this course, you can consider pursuing law, take up marketing and advertising roles, take up secretarial jobs, consider the fashion field or have your own start up.
If you pursue BA in economics (honours), on the other hand, following it up with a MBA is one of the best options. You can also be a consultant for firms and businesses or work in banks. Jobs within the government and the corporate law are also options for an graduate of economics – honours. If you’re interested in research, PhD is also a good direction for you. You can also be an economic journalist, statistician, analyst or a professor after completing the required courses. For more information regarding this, you can look here: https://www.popxo.com/2016/09/career-options-after-eco-honours/.
All these options are open to you, assuming you are interested in finance and economics. If you are still undecided, maybe giving it some thought would help. Also, both the institutions are renowned for their services and the quality of education they provide. Either of them would be a great place for you to pursue your chosen stream of further education.
If you are interested in going out on your own and being an entrepreneur, I would suggest you take up BBA, but if you are otherwise inclined, B. Com or B. A would be suitable. All the best.
