Bachelor's and Master's degree are to be found in the disciplines rubber technology , plastic technology, polymer science etc. Admission to bachelor's degree courses are open to students who have completed plus two with physics, chemistry and mathematics as subjects and the usual engineering admission process is followed by the engineering college

. Master;s degree course would require the relevant bachelor's degree plus GATE score or as required by the institution. MTech polymer programmes or equivalent are offered to candidates with a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering / polymer science/ plastic technology or an equivalent examination or master's degree in technical/ applied or industrial chemistry of equivalent. There are also a number of long and short term diploma courses in plastic technology at the post graduate level. Those entering the management and marketing areas in the plastic industry would need a managementdegree after a BSc in chemical/ plastics/ rubber engineering. For research work, masteror PhD would be essential
