55 Aggregate Companies: companies with eligibility criteria less than 60
Hi Kalpna,
As you have mentioned that your aggregate mark is around 55%. I think it is difficult to get off campus or even on-campus placement. Most major companies do need at least 60% marks in graduation. In fact, the eligibility for jobs in PSU (Public Sector Undertakings) is between 60-65% for the general category candidates. However, this is not the only criteria. Your marks in 10th & 12th classes are as important as of BTech. Even if you have performed well in BTech but got less than 60% in 10th or 12th then you will not get the job in MNC’s.While companies are very strict in their eligibility criteria, also this rule is relaxed for the students which they believe are very good and talented. Prepare yourself for the interview and give your best shot. Even if you don't make the cut for the off campus placement, there is nothing to be worry. You should work hard in the last year of your BTech to make sure that your overall percentage will be at least 60% or more as this would open plenty of job opportunities for you. You would be able to apply for PSY (Public Sector Undertakings), although job is given on the basis of performance in the entrance examination and the percentile scored in GATE exam.Even if you fail to meet the requirement of big MNC’s it is nothing to be worry about as India is not just all about MNC’s, there are thousands of small and medium scale companies or startups who will happily give you the job with decent pay on the basis of your talent.

thank you
companies with eligibility criteria less than 60 in 12th
Dear Aspirant,
I agree with Ms. Gunjan.
Not everybody can get MNCs for their first jobs. You can start with jobs with medium/small companies and based on the experience earned, can definitely get a job in MNCs.
55% though is satisfactory but not too good since on campus placement 60% and above are generally preferred.
Also, I would suggest you to analyse why did you score 55% only? Please make up for the difficult subjects or skipped syllabus, which will help you get 60% in entire degree.
Also please polish your english language skills, personality, attitude, soft skills, etc for clearing the technical and HR round.
I hope i got your cleared about
Thank you
Best wishes
