The CSIR NET Exam is conducted only for science stream subjects like Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Science etc.
As you pursued masters in Arts or Geography you can not apply for CSIR NET Exam.
But there is another and just similar exam like CSIR NET through which you can become an Assistant Professor or researcher.
Yes, I’m talking about NTA UGC NET Exam. The exam which is conducted for aspirants to chase their dreams.
UGC NET Exam is conducted for 81 different subjects including Visual Arts and Geography.
You can apply either for UGC NET Arts or UGC NET Geography subjects.
It is also required to confirm the required eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.

If you have 55 percent marks in Masters' degree then you are eligible for the CSIR NET Earth Science. Because Geography is related to the Earth Science and according to the rules of the exam aspirants can appear for the exam with the subject in which they completed their post graduation.
You will get 5 percent relaxation in educational criteria, if you are belong to ST/SC/PwD.
Your age must be less than 28 year to apply for the junior research fellowship. The relaxation of 5 years will be provided to the OBC/SC/ST/PwD candidates.
UGC CSIR NET Exam conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). As the minimum qualification for applying in this exam is your Master's Degree. you are eligible for CSIR NET Exam. As CSIR included the below subjects
Chemical Sciences
Earth sciences
Life sciences
Mathematical Sciences
Physical sciences
Geography itself a subject that is related to earth science. So you can apply for CSIR NET Exam.
Before to fill the application form, check the CSIR NET age limit. You have to remember one more thing that You should have a minimum of 55% in your post-graduation.
