Dear aspirant

Thank you very much for approaching counsellors at CareerGuide.com!!! I appreciate your interest in computer science engineering and i am very glad that you have achieved some clarity regarding your education and career interest. You indicate your interest in one subject and not among few subjects and get confused. This shows your arrival of strong interest in a particular subject.

You can certainly study Information technology/ computer science degrees at college if you have studied the relevant subject at school level. Colleges look for either Computer science/ Information technology subject at both 11th and 12th class and as you have studied Information technology at school level you can definitely study Computer science engineering but the only problem here is you may not be able to apply to government institutions. Government institutions may come under national counselling program and this will be highly focused on students with a physics, chemistry, maths and computer science background. This is known as PCCM. As you have studied maths at school, you can appeal to universities to consider your application for a BE/ BTech computer science engineering or a BTech Information technology program. And most deemed or private universities will happily consider if you have studied It and maths at school level for engineering programs.

You should next check with individual colleges and universities on their eligibility criteria. Each college varies with eligibility criteria and it is certainly difficult to say if they can accept you. For example, some colleges strictly prefer students from PCCM group only but some colleges offer flexibility if you have at least studied maths and computer science or maths and Information Technology at school level. So you need to walk into the college admissions office to check this individually or even phone them. Most colleges also run their own entrance test. As you want to study BE Computer science your entrance test will include English, maths and some basic knowledge in computer science. If you clear the test above 60% you can be admitted on their engineering program. Please check and follow up with colleges on their individual entrance test dates.

Finally some reputable universities you can consider are:
1. IIT Bombay ( www.iitb.ac.in/)
2. Colleges under University of Mumbai ( www.mu.ac.in/coll_info_officers.html)
3. Sardar patel college of Engineering ( www.spce.ac.in/)
4. K J Somaiya college of Engineering ( https://www.somaiya.edu/kjsce)
5. Mahatma Gandhi college of Engineering ( www.mgecjaipur.com/)
6. Thakur college of Engineering and technology ( www.tcetmumbai.in/)
7. MCT'S Rajiv Gandhi institute of technology ( www.mctrgit.ac.in/)

All the best

Dear Aspirant

Thank you very much for contacting CareerGuide .com as we are always ready to enlighten the deserving candidates those really in need. Your current course study is quite exciting and cold be given many of the complimentary approaches like applied computational and Informatics which are applied aspects. As you stated your interest in engineering in computer science and infotech which require the basic sciences like chemistry physics and maths which are studied at twelve level and must be treated as core courses for engineering and technological study. Though I am impressed with your brilliant background in commerce with infotech and math background at the same time I am not in position to recommend you loudly that you must join engineering in computer sciences at B.TECH or B.E.level.

University Grant Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) are the regulatory authorities for all types of engineering colleges and Universities either in private or public they provide the affliationship based on the basis of academic credentials. You are advised to take a long route of such universities and collages in your vicinity and then approach them for your specfic background whether they have such provision to offer you admission in B.Tech or B.Sc in Computer Sciences. I guess you will get the admission in BSc in computer or Info tech but having doubt in B.Tech which requires chemistry physics and maths at twelve level. But make sure the university or collage you approaching must be abiding the standard benchmarking at national and international level otherwise you will be in trouble while applying for job in any prestigious organization. Since the academic record with legitimate combination and course structure is an inevitable approach for an aspirant. Once you do it then think about the course to be offered at your graduation level and see the futuristic approach in examination point of view. In general the realization part is very delayed, after admission when they taste the essence of course they say it is bitter and not my type so please suggest me a course combination where i will swap. It is not a healthy approach that is why I suggest you please check it with utmost care as you have entire world in a click distance and use your intelligence before taking admission. Never be allured by any fancy reference.

Good luck

Hi,

Greeting's for the day!!!. Thanks for choosing CareerGuide.com!!!

Computer engineers are responsible for designing, developing, impleting and testing, computer based hardware and software, including the componenets that are found inside the computer equipments, as well as actual devices that contain the computers and the software that runs of those machines. They may also design network that connects computer systems, and work on integrating software programs with computer hardware.

Education Requirements:
To become Computer Engineer, you will typically require a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering.

Since the computer engineering field is quite broad, the required technical skills listed in the job postings you may come across will vary, depending on whether the job is more hardware or software focused, and which industry the employer belongs to. Typically, you will require to have the followings:

1. An understanding of the particular computer hardware architecture you will be working with
2. Experience designing, coding and testing softwares.
3. Familirity with software test procedures and scripts
4. Experience building your own PC systems
5. Understanding of different operating systems, including Windows, Linux and how certain types of software will work with them.
6. Experience with device drivers
7. Understanding of Networking and Security
8. Understanding of (Sometimes specialized) software that is typically used in particular industry
9. Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Java and other Object-oriented programming languages.

Computer engineers usually use computer-assisted Software engineering, or CASE, or tools to automate the process. They also test, debud and update programs.

Since computer engineers work closely ith programmers, designers, product developers, and testers, they really need to have strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills, as well as the ability to work in a team.

computer engineers are likely to find work ina variety of fields, including (But not limited to):
1. Telecommunications
2. Manufacturing
3. Transportation
4. Product Development

Here are some "Niche" areas of Computer Engineering:
1. Working with Radar and Communications technology
2. Supporting high performance and embedded computing systems for nuclear medicines
3. Military Software Support
4. Designing new motors and sensors for robotics equipments.

Furter doubts or queries feel free to contact.
