What is NTA JEE Main :

NTA JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into undergraduate Undergraduate Engineering programs in various Colleges across India. The exam is conducted twice a year, in January and April. The exam is of 3 hours duration and consists of multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. NTA JEE Main Eligibility :

To be eligible to appear for the NTA JEE Main exam, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Age Limit : There is no age limit to appear for the JEE Main exam.
  • Educational Qualification : For B.E/B.Tech courses, candidates must have passed their class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject. They must have scored at least 75% marks in their class 12th board exams or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.
  • For B.Arch courses, candidates must have passed their class 12th or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. They must have scored at least 50% marks in their class 12th board exams.
  • For B.Planning courses, candidates must have passed their class 12th or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. They must have scored at least 50% marks in aggregate in their class 12th board exams.
  • Number of Attempts : Candidates can appear for JEE Main exam a maximum of 4 times in consecutive years.

JEE Advanced :

After cracking the JEE Main exam, candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can appear for the JEE Advanced exam.

  • To be eligible for JEE Advanced, a candidate must rank among the top 2.5 lakh successful candidates in the JEE Main exam.
