As you have rightly said, A B.Sc in Biotechnology is not offered in Delhi University.

Even going through the lists of colleges mentioned in the website, most of them are not offering the said course.

You are opting for Biotechnology and it is and rapidly generating many new career avenues now and in future as well.

So my suggestion to you is do from the best of institutes and dont compromise with the the limitation of locality.

Eligibility - Science stream at 10+2 with no restriction on having biology as one of your subjects for many colleges and institutes.

Bt there is one thing I want to know,do these colleges offer BSc on the basis of 12th result or there are entrance test for the same and if so,den what is the eligibility criteria for these tests?

Hi Ginni,

Mostly admission to a B.Sc course is based purely on merit, i.e. the 12th results only.

Since any student from the science stream and someone who is research oriented can pursue this course, generally seats gets filled up soon.

So do work hard and give it your best shot

Ya these institutes and colleges offers BSc as well and most of them take students through entrance Test.

Like After 12th for B.Sc Level Punjab University conducts own entrance tests. The admission to this course is generally made as per the merit list of Common Entrance Test (CET) examination with PCMand Biology/Mathematics combination.

Adimission into IIT's Dual Degree programs is through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for students who have successfully completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with PCMB.

But when I searched online,I found that shri venkateshwara college and daulatram are offering it and they do come under du.

The list of colleges on the DU website is comprehensive and few colleges I checked were not offering the course.

As far as the 2 colleges you have mentioned,shri venkateshwara college is offering you a B.Sc in Biotechnology, whereas daulatram offers courses in Botany, biochemistry, zoology, but not your subject Biotech

DU is a well known established Universitty, so it is not possible that all colleges under DU, will not have a particular course.
Mostly depending on the infrastructure and other amenities courses are decided accordingly.

So please do go through the lists of colleges mentioned in their website.
