I am glad o know that you are interested to become a clinical psychologist... in fact it has become one of the most demanding careers these days.... You are still an armature in this filed of psychology and there is long way to go to become a clinical; psychologist. After completing your graduation in psychology you will have to prepare for the entrance exam for your masters in the same. You will have to fulfill the eligibility criteria for the same as well. It is not an easy process as there are very limited good colleges in India which offer this course. A lot of preparation and hard work along with at least 55% marks in your graduation are required to do your masters. Though after doing your graduation in the same I really don't think that you will have to require a lot of hard work in the same. After the entrance only a few selected students are called for the interview. Delhi University even conducts a Group Discussion. After this a merit list is prepared and then on the basis of the final merit list you will get admission. After completion of your Masters in Psychology (as many of the colleges have only Masters in Psychology and very few colleges will give you a degree in Masters in Clinical Psychology) you will have to again prepare and sit for the M.Phil Exam and do the same for a certification in Clinical Psychology as that is one of the benchmarks to practice as a clinical psychologist in this field. Also M.Phil should be done form a college that is approved form Rehabilitation Council of India or RCI only then you become an authorized clinical psychologist. Also you need to be registered under RCI as a clinical psychologist to practice independently in this filed. It is a long way to go...... But your love for the field will help you do the same.....
