If you wish to pursue Economics as a majors, you need to b strong with Math and statistics as a subject. As economics is all about statistics and majorly Financial aspects.
As Dr has mentioned above, few opportunities in Economics would includes fields like Banking, Insurance firms, Financial sectors etc.
Also you could think of Actuarial Sciences too. Actuarials are the ones who apply science of maths and statistics methods to access risk in insurance and finances in any organization etc.
