Please note there is no undergraduate course in special education. One can pursue a B.Ed in the same which is possible only after one is a graduate.
But there are lots of counseling organizations that offer diploma and or certificate courses after 12th, which are of 6 months duration.
You can either pursue a B.Ed or opt for certification courses. But check whether the course is RCI recognised.
Check IGNOU, YCMOU, National Institute for empowerment of individuals with mental disability etc.
If possible pursue a counseling degree too. It helps to join schools and function as both special educator cum counselor.
Also do not pursue a distance learning course unless practicals are a part of the course curriculum.
