Difference between ME and Mtech

ME stands for Master of Engineering, while MTech stands for Master of Technology. MTech is a professional postgraduate engineering master's degree program granted to individuals after they have completed two years of engineering education. This degree is based on a specific engineering field.

The ME/MTech degree is available in India in a variety of specialities. Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and others are among these specializations.

Eligibility For Me and Mtech

1 ME/MTech degree candidates must have completed their BE/BTech degree and have received a valid GATE score.

2 Candidates for the Master of Engineering programme must have completed a 5-year programme in Science or Applied Sciences that resulted in the award of a Master of Science degree.

3 Admission is determined by a student's performance on the ME./MTech entrance exam.

Gate Exam for Me and Mtech

GATE, or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is a national-level engineering exam held every year for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programs at IITs, NITs, and IIITs. Seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore jointly organize the test.

The GATE score is accepted by a number of government and commercial universities across the country for admission to MTech programs. Engineers are also recruited through GATE by Public Sector Units (PSUs).
