Please note if you wish to be a Psychiatrist who treats patients through medications and electro convulsive therapy then MBBS is a must. At the post graduate level you could opt for Psychiatry.
But if you wish to treat patients purely through counseling and therapies, MBBS is not required. After completing 12th any stream, you could opt for a 3 years graduation course in Psychology. Follow it up with a 2 years masters program where you could specialise in any of the programs namely clinical, counseling, industrial psychology.
In terms of admission to a BA program please note it is purely merit based. With your 12th marksheet, apply to the college of your choice.
