Tax is a branch that is one of the interesting to learn and make a career in the same. Many a times we think of making a career in the Income Tax Department but because we are not aware how to make a career in it we often stop dreaming of making a career in the same. Income Tax is one of the most interested career of many students. The Income Tax department have many career opportunities out of which Income Tax Officer is one of the good career option. Income Tax Officer is a post that comes under the Central Government. The relation of the Income Tax officer is related to the Income Tax Matters that which comes under the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
The Income Tax Officer exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). You can look out for the notification in the employment newspaper or on the SSC official website.
The Eligibility criteria for the Income Tax officer i.e SSC exam-
The exam consists of -
1. Prelim Exam
2.Main Exam
3.Personality Test and Interview.
Whereas there is also another option you can give an Indian Revenue Service exam (IRS) exam conducted by the UPSC every year.
The Eligibility criteria is as follows
1.A candidate who have completed a Graduation Degree from any stream from a recognised university or who is in the last year and is waiting for the result can apply for the exam.
2. The age should be 21 years to 32 years; 5 years age relaxation for the Reserved candidates and 3 years for OBC.
