As an Insurance Officer you have four main tasks to do and you do them almost every day:

Contacting people: This takes quite a lot of time as the Insurance Officer has to figure out which all are the prospective clients. They have to contact them via emails, phone calls, text messages etc and get them aware about the various policies that the company is offering. One has to be really polite during the conversations.

Meet prospective clients: This is one of the important roles of an Insurance Officer's work. They have to understand the client's needs and listen well to them. Accordingly, they suggest the right solution and the policy to the clients. They cannot sound too nosy. The interpersonal skills matter a lot in such meetings. They often travel to the client's place and have the conversations.

Share the insurance proposition: According to the needs of the client and as per company's considerations, right policy is suggested to the client and the various formalities are initiated.

Closure and client retention: From the approvals, till the final agreement - all the formalities have to be taken care of, by the Insurance Officer. Once the closure is done, they have to ensure that they satisfy client's needs and take their feedbacks from time to time.

The typical day for a health and life insurance agent, agency owner, or executive heavily centers around communication. Whether internal or external, communication is essential for the agent, owner, or executive to do their job properly. This communication includes:

  • A significant amount of time filing and documenting information
  • A few hours of responding to emails and voicemails/answering calls
  • At least one internal or external meeting (more depending on the time of year)

To learn more about what makes up a typical day, I asked the experts. I interviewed 5 agency executives to learn more about their workday and how they get stuff done. Here are some of their answers. car games
