The typical day of an Airline Pilot can be extremely hectic - working for 15 hours, or very comfortable - not working more than 3-4 hours. It's one job that depends on day to day activities. In general we can talk about the kind of activities they get involved every day:

1. The pilot works on Scheduling the Line - monthly layout of flights at the beginning of every month. This is very important as the pilots cannot spend more hours than a fixed number assigned to them . Therefore they have to be very careful while deciding on that.

2. The activity of every week is decided previously. Generally airline pilots work for 3-4 days without break and then take 3-4 days off for a week.

3. Before each flight, the pilot spends good amount of time while checking the plane and ensuring all the safety measures required.

4. Pilots decide the path, speed and altitude to be followed during the flight. They have to do all this before the flight only based on weather conditions, airline traffic etc. This is very important as there are multiple factors to be considered and no trouble at any cost is required.

5. Along with co-pilots, an airline pilot works on the landing and take off.

6. Throughout the flight, the airline pilot will keep a check on the speed, altitude, fuel meter, instruments' panel and other necessary measures. They also instruct the copilots at various times.

7. The pilot has to communicate with the ground staff at all times.

8. If there is an emergency, the pilot has to pass all the instructions after consulting the ground staff.

9. After the flight, airline pilots have to spend good amount of time doing the paper works and other formalities.

10. For the mainetanance puposes, Airline Pilots' suggestion are considered and they have to keep a check on the requests and permissions on the maintenance.
