Aeronautical Engineers are required to deal with stuff like designing of aircraft and its control systems, aerodynamics, maintenance of air craft, Aircraft communication systems, rocket propulsion systems, ground duty and many others related aircraft. The scope job opportunities for an aeronautical engineer is very wide. There are three key areas where the vacancies mainly exists design, manufacturing and maintenance of aircraft. The sectors which offers various job opportunities are all the three wings of Defense services viz. Army, Navy and Air Force, Civil Aviation, space research agencies, commercial aviation companies.Job Opportunities in Defense sector:Defense sector offers a lot of opportunities in the field of aeronautical engineering. Air Force has very recent and technologically advanced air offense and defense systems. There is always need of technical persons who can understand how to operate them in the time of need. They also require persons who can help them in developing newer technologies in field of air defense system. Graduates passing out of Institutes are inducted as trainee officers. They are trained as per the career path chalked out for them. It is notable that in Defense forces the career of an officer is finalized at the time of induction itself.With your qualification of B.E. (Aeronautical Engineering) you will get ample scope of joining the Indian Air Force. Here you may be eligible for joining any of their three branches viz. Flying branch, Technical Branch and Ground duty officers. In case of flying branch you need to be unmarried and within the age group of 19-23 years. Once you go through the selection process you will be trained at Air Force Academy in Hyderabad.Positions in Ground Duty Officers include Air Traffic Controllers (ATC), flight controller, logistics and metrological branch etc.You can join the defense sector in Short Service commission or in permanent service commission.Civil Aviation sector:There are jobs of commercial Pilot and ground duty officers in the civil aviation sector. As the civil aviation sector has been opened up for entry of various private sector companies, there are a lot of opportunities for persons like you who has the requisite qualifications. The jobs at entry level are graduate trainees, aircraft maintenance engineers, technical officers, system engineer etc.
