Thanks for choosing CareerGuide.com!!!

There are various career opportunities available after doing aerospace engineerimg like :

Career in ISRO and NASA- Indian Space Research Organization ( www.isro.gov.in/) is one of the most premium institutes in India. ISRO involves in designing and launching satellites, space applications, satellite communications , remote sensing, meteorology and oceanography. ISRO provides best growth opportunities in the form of on the job training , fellowships and hi tech atmosphere etc to aerospace engineers to develop their unique skills.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration ( www.nasa.gov/)_ is the world's top most space research organization. There are many opportunities for those who are willing to shape their career abroad and have immense interest in hi space exploration programmes.

Technical Support Aerospace Engineers and Scientists in Many Roles- from assisting in the collection and analysis of data to building and maintaining important models and equipments. Almost every task in the aerospace field requires the teamwork of engineers, scientists and technicians.

Scientists and Technicians- Scientists usually work in one of three places; industrial research and development , private and government labs and academic research. Scientists are vital to the discovery of new products and processes or to broaden the field of science by deriving or clarifying theories and concepts to be used by others. In an academic setting , many scientists teach at college or university while they are also doing their research.

One also an option to be a analytical, design, systems, materials and processes , software, flight research engineer.

Dear aspirant

Thank you for approaching counsellors at CareerGuide.com!!!

Aerospace engineering is an excellent branch of engineering science that has highly developed and gained recognition in the recent years. Aerospace engineering can be studied at btech, mtech and phd level. Completing the Btech level a student can have the following options.

1. NASA ( www.nasa.gov/) -
National aeronautics and space administration located in the usa is a world leading space research organisation that especially employs space science and aero space engineering graduates. Students who aspire working abroad and also has some masters or phd degree in aero space engineering are most prefered to work at NASA.

2. ISRO( www.isro.gov.in/) -
Indian space research organisation is based in India and at kerala, is the national space science laboratory for India. They employ students with physics, astro physics, astronomy, space science, aero space engineering degrees to work with them. I know a candidate who had done their degree from IISC Bangalore in physics, and then interned at ISRO kerala. After studies she also worked full time for ISRO for three years and is now at NASA USA for a full time job. Like wise ISRO is also the best route for students who aspire to work for NASA.

  1. Consultant - You can also work as aviation consultants if you have this degree. After the BTech aero space students can also study MBA Aviation management to become professional consultants. These consultants work for different air line companies to advice on technical and manufacturing problems.
4. Scientist - You can also work as a scientist if you have a PhD in aerospace engineering. So after Btech you can do mtech and then a phd to become a space scientist. You will work for ISRO, NASA, air line companies and universities at their research and development department.
5. Airline manufacturing companies - You can work for airline manufacturing companies like the boeing, air bus to test, manufacture design and development of these commercial air crafts. You can also work for robotics and space vehicle manufacturing companies. Lots of students confuse between aero space engineering and aeronautical engineering, and students think both are the same. But the truth is both are different. Aeronautical engineering people are restricted to working with only commercial air crafts where as the main advantage for aero space engineering people is they have no restrictions like that. They can work with any thing that involves travelling in space.
6. Air craft engine manufacturers - You can also work for air line engine manufacturers like the general electric motors, rolls royce and many more. Many french and german companies are associated in this field and you can find jobs with them too. All the best.
