There are various routes through which one can make a career in computers. DOEACC sopciety offers computer/ IT training in the non formal sector through accredited institutes. According to this scheme, there are four levels of training and should be graded as 'O' , 'A', 'B' AND 'C'. 'O' level is foundation level course . after completion of this course one can work as assistant programmer, EDP assistant , web designer etc. "A" level course would enable aperson to secure job as programmer , web administrator , web content developer, trouble shooter etc. "B' level certification can assist aperson in finding jobs as system analysts, database administrators, software enginers, senior faculty or network system, administrato. 'B"' level certification is equivalent to MCA. 'C' level certification would lead to jobs as project managers, it consultants.



One can also go for certifications such as MCSE ( Microsoft Certified System Engineer) , MCSD ( Microsoft Certified System Developer) , CCNA ( Cisco Certified Network Engineer) Linux System Administartion , Red Hate Certified Administrator. Large organizations requires the services of system administrators for their data base amanagement and administration. All the baove certifications can be done by person with any academic background.

Computer Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, implementing and testing computer based hardware and software, including the components that are found inside computer equipment, as well as actual devices that contai the computers and the software that runs on those machines. They may also design network that connects computer systems, and work on integrating software programs with computer hardware.

Education Requirements:
To become Computer Engineer, you will typically require a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering.

As you a BCom Students, you will not have mathemetics as subject in your Graduations. So you can not apply for above mentioned degrees as per requirements.

Howver, there are certain courses like "GNIIT from NIIT" which is a Computer Engineering Course specially designed for Commerce Students. You can even apply for "Hardware & Networking Courses" from the renowned institutes like Aptech.

Responsibilities or Required Technical Skills:
Since the computer engineering field is quite broad, the required technica skills listed in the job posting you may come across will vary, depending on whether the job is more hardware - software focused, and which industry the employer belongs too. typically, you will need to have followings:

1. An understanding of the particular computer hardware architecture you will be working with.
2. Experience designing, coding and testing softwares.
3. Familiarity with Software test procedures or scripts.
4. Experience building your own pc system.
5. Understanding of diffrent operating systems.
6. Experience with device drivers.
7. Understanding of networking and security
8. Understanding of the (sometimes specialized) software that is typically used in particular industry.
9. Knowledge of programming langugaes such as C, C++, Java and other Object-Oriented languages.

Computer Engineers usually use computer-assisted software engineering, or CASE, tools to automate the process. They also test, debug and update programs.

Other Crucial Skills:
Since computer engineers work closely with programmers, designers, product devlopers and testers, they really need to have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team.

Fields employing Computer Engineers:
Computer engineers are likely to find work in a variety of fields, including (but not limited to):
1. Telecommunications
2. manufacturing
3. Transportation
4. Product Development

Here are some interesting "Niche" areas of Computer Engineering:
1. Working with Radar and Communications Technology
2. Supporting high performance and embedded computing systems for nuclear medicines.
3. Military Software Support
4. Designing new motors and Sensors for Robotics Equipments.
