Hello

Thank you for contacting us with your question. Dont worry. We are here to guide you. I see you want to join Aeronautical engineering. What diploma are you currently studying or have studied already? Was it a Diploma in Mechanical? As a diploma holder you can use the lateral entry option and directly join second year for studying Aeronautical engineering in India. Aeronautical engineering is growing well in India and has a very good future. Completing the degree, you can work for top aircraft manufacturing companies like the Boeing, Airbus. Aero engineers are in high demand and the career opportunities are vast. I am glad you have chosen the right field for you.

If you are currently studying your Diploma, you first have to complete the diploma and calculate your overall percentage in your diploma. Colleges prefer 60% as a minimum score to be considered for entry into Engineering level. Some government colleges give you the flexibility of having above 55% if you are a SC/ST student. If you have already completed your Diploma and are currently working, great. Your work experience will be of a great value with your Engineering admission and even after you graduate with your engineering degree. Companies will also prefer to select you for job as you come with some work experience compared to the BE pass outs who will be definitely a fresher without work experience. So now, with your Diploma overall score find colleges that offer Aeronautical engineering. All colleges will accept students on a lateral entry mode with Diploma degrees. This means you will join an Engineering college directly in the second year and not study right from first year. So your dream of studying Aeronautical engineering is possible and you are on the right track. Congrats for that.

Regarding applying: You should send colleges study applications for a place on the BE Aeronautical Engineering with your
1. 10th scores
2. 12th scores
3. Diploma scores.
4. Work experience if any. (Prepare a one page resume if possible and attach it with study application)
If you din't study 12th standard and started studying Diploma directly, it is not a problem. You can be still considered. In that case send your 10th and Diploma scores to colleges along with your BE study application. The only thing you need to choose is, in what college you want to study.

BE Aeronautical engineering offered in Indian colleges are:
1. PEC University Chandigarh - BE Aeronautical
2. Manipal Institute of technology Karnataka - a deemed university but is famous and excellent with faclities, campus placements after degree are good too. - BE Aeronautical.
3. Sathyabama University chennai - BE Aeronautical. A deemed university with excellent campus placements and good reputation.
4. M.V.J. college of Engineering Bangalore - BE Aeronautical.
5. Acharya Institute of technology Bangalore - BE Aeronautical

Other colleges in India that offer BE Aerospace are (similar to BE Aeronautical engineering only)
IIT Bombay, IIT KGP, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, Bengal Engineering and science university, Amrita school of Engineering Bangalore.

Please write back if you have any further questions.

All the very best.
