Interesting question.
But my answer is why do you wish to pursue Psychology and not Psychiatry. In case you are interested in Psychology, and are from the Science background, why not apply for medicine and pursue MBBS, which is a 5 1/2 years course and then at the masters level you could opt for Psychiatry.
Thanks Shrikant for your query. Yes you can pursue psychology. You have two options, if you have very good score in science then you can opt for Medical Eductaion (MBBS) and then do MD in Psychiatry.Ofcourse this has financial implications and competition. For opting psychology, you need to get into BA in Psychology, then eneter into masters program (MA or MSc) in psychology. TO become a practicing clinical psychologist you need to do MPhil in Clinical Psychology. In North India, follwoing colleges/University offer UG/PG course in Psychology. University of DelhiJNU, DelhiAmity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences, NoidaUnversity of LucknowBanaras Hindu UniversityLady Shri Ram College for WomenI hope this helps you. For further query, feel free to get back to me.Wish you best luck,Apurva
