Hello My Dear Sangeeta - Engineering Career Aspirant,

I am very happy that you being in the SSC level (10thh) you have started thinking for your future career goal and also selected Engineering stream as your future career option. This is really appreciable and commendable. In my more than seven years of career counselling experience, I have seen very few students who think in their SSC level itself what they would like to become or choose for their career.

I am glad that you approached the right career platform for seeking guidance to your career concern and I am thank ful to you for this. I am sure that the experts here will be able to guide you appropriately.

Before I proceed, I would like to wish all the best for your SSC (10th) board examinations and I am sure that you will score good enough to get entry into the science stream.

Engineering field:

Engineering field has been the foremost top fields for careers across the world. Engineering as a field provides unlimited opportunities for career and innovation. All the technological progress which we see today, is all due to engineering and there fore every body is proud of an engineer.

Choosing the exact engineering stream:

I assume from your query that you are good at maths and other science subjects and there fore you have thought of choosing engineering.

After you pass out from SSC (10th) you will need to choose Science stream for your junior college and come out with flying colours in 12th (HSC).

Choosing between:

  • Civil
  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • Chemical
  • Instrumentation
  • Industrial
  • and more

is not a joke and is really a critical aspect. Every engineering stream requires different skill sets, but the most common thing is command over Mathematics. Without maths, no engineering can be done.

Your can choose the engineering stream by many ways. One being that you find out information abotu each engineering stream on the internet search and choose the one which excites you and makes you feel good.

However the above way is not full proof. There fore I would like to suggest you to undergo the "Engineering Branch Suggestor" psychometric test available at CareerGuide.com. This is a proven and world famous and systematic way to decide your option. This test will tell you what are your real talents, likings, interests, passion, attitude, aptitude, etc. which are important for deciding a career option.

All the Best!
