Hello Maaz,
The choice of job or further studies is completely your choice. Incase you have not decided on further studies, I would suggest, get into a job. Analyse the industry and its requirements and then choose a course accordingly.
As such for the masters level you could choose from construction, to quality control or architecture or project management etc.
Anyways leaving all these points aside, at the moment focus on your studies. Concentrate and put in all your efforts and score well in your graduation. All further courses of action would depend on your score.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
I can understand your dilemma. Construction industry is on the rise in every country and particularly in India, where there is more focus on construction and infrastructure industry, there are a lot of opportunities for good civil engineers.
I am happy that you are thinking of your future and approached us at the right time.
Higher studies definitely is a good thing to do, however if you get placement through your college, then I would suggest that you should opt for it. If a job comes your way, do not loose that opportunity. Learning on the job is the best training which an academic course will not be able to give you. However, if you feel that the job offers are not suitable then you may choose higher studies. However, please do not be very choosy or rigid in terms of your first job and salary. You are supposed to learn the practical construction work before you get the ability to negotiate.
For enhancing your knowledge, you may take up courses in Project Management. Construction industry needs good civil project management engineers. This you can study abroad too. Also get your self trained formally in Strata, MS Project, Prima Vera application software which are used widely in good companies.
Best wishes
