Hello There!

I have found this common question and doubt in the minds of Electrical Engineers that there is no scope apart from being into electrical jobs in the industry. But my dear, this is not at all true. I am glad that you approached CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and advice to your genuine and right query.

As mentioned above, please remove the notion that an Electrical Engineer only has electrical jobs in the industry to do. I am happy that you asked this very right question here. Today an construction project cannot be completed without the help of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineer all taken together.

A fantastic career option for any of the above stream of engineering candidate is Construction and Project Management. Project Management is a fantastic area for work where not technical but managerial and business aspects are required to be know in order for the concerned project to get complete, commissioned and handed over. Any Engineer knowing Project Management is the requirement of the industry today but unfortunately the industry is not getting such trained engineers.

Ten Lakh Project Management professionals are required annually according to the 2013 survey by the Chamber of Commerce. Looking at this figure it can be definitely said that there is a shortage of such project management trained engineers.

Construction and Project Management is a techno-commercial skills and is definitely a different career option from the typical technical civil, mechanical and electrical work.

Below is the imade which shows you what is project and construction management:

Therefore my dear electrical engineer, you can definitely get trained through full time courses in Construction and Project Management. One institute which offers is Samvit School of Infrastructure Business which is based at Pune, Maharashtra. www.samvitinfra.edu.in

Best Luck

Dear Friend

Thank you very much for contacing CareerGuide.com. It is good to know that you have done degree in electrical engineering though you have not mentioned then name of degree. I guess it is B.Tech or BE then must have done specialised desertation course work which gives you the deep understanding in any particular module out of entire creddit based course basket. Try to explore the implication of your degree at multidisciplinary or trrnasdesciplinary level where the input like yours is needed as complimentory so that the best concept could be formulated at the end. THis type of appraoch is being develop as the needs of global society where engineering and technology playing pivotal role to understand the natural behavior of any system which could be exploited at maximum level. Though academic knowldege is invitable to adapt the course of action where the colleborative researchers or engineerers merge their ideas to give a fundamental shape at the same time they need to convince the scientific and engineering monitoring body with the basic concept and how it will be possible?
Before taking it to a certain direction you must follow the thumb rules of your basic instinct whatever you have developed from schoolong to college at btech or BE level where you are comfortable in doing or implimenting or conceptualizing any hypothesis.

Now a days electrical engineering has become the common thrust for entire reseach and enginnering community due the global need in energy, you will not be surprised to know that people are talking about green energy which is quite safe in terms of free radicals, radiation, resourse wise, and cost effective etc. These are the common facts where engineers, scientist and academicians are sharing the common plateform and giving a pathway that how to work togethor so that we can assure the world about the power genereation.
Keeping all these facts in mind try to find the best model system from your studied course and then explore either computational world, biological sciences, electronics which is the very close to you, or something else, depends on your capacity to draw the similality matrix only then you move either at higher degree level or something professional way to find the best suited job where you can give your best.
All the bestElectrical Engineer
