Applied statistics- applied statistics is the use of statistical analysis in various areas like engineering in agriculture, meteorology , social science research , marketing research etc. Statisticians work in close coordination with researchers in diffrent fields , business managers and even government officials during projects. Bio statistics and health statistics- in this area statisticians use their skills in health science research , finding out efficacy of a drug, cost benefit analysis of a method of treatment , analysis of rate of death for particular disease etc. Mathematical statistics- in this field statisticians are actively involved in computations and derivations. The ere are various job opportunities for statistics such as Indian Statistical Service- a service of Government of India and other Government Departments like Ministry of Commerce, Directorate of Commercial intelligence and statistics etc.
