Hi Maitri,

Information Technology stream of Bachelor of Science itself is not recommended. Don't expect great things merely from Bachelor of Science course. This is a very basic course and would not offer any good job. The career prospect is slightly dim only with a Bachelor of Science course.
In the private sector, I would say that you can apply for a job in BPO with this qualification. Most of the IT companies would not offer a job with a graduation degree unless it is B.Tech.

There can be a good scope in the government sector. You can appear for Civil Service Examination or the IBPS Bank PO. Both require candidates with graduation in any stream and percentage is not the issue.

If you aim to work for any IT firm. Then you should start considering post graduation degree. I would recommend MCA (Master of Computer Applications) or MSc IT as these courses would open the doors of MNC and IT firms for you.

There is another option, i.e. MBA in IT. However, only if your intention is not to program software’s but to be part of the management. This degree would help you fulfil this dream

Dear Aspirant,

I would suggest not to look for a job on the basis of BSc IT only. BSc IT is just the basic qualification you have acquired.

However if you are required to work for some other reasons, then you can apply for jobs in IT companies for roles like Analyst, Data Analyst, Network Administration, Programming, etc.

But if you are not required to work, I would definitely suggest to first complete your post graduation. MSc IT or MCA would be a better choice. Also do not for any distance mode qualification. Along the side you may also try to acquire certifications like CCNA, MCSE, etc. which will enhance your candidature when you apply for jobs.

Do not think of MBA IT right now, since it would not help without having experience.

Best wishes
