Interesting to know you are interested in the Defense sector.But prior to that, you would have to decide which sector in defense:
In general, students opt for the Army sector.So in terms of Army, note the eligibility and selection criteria.
One can join Army, either through,
The Permanent commission is provided by IMA(Indian Military Academy)- Dehradun. To join Permanent commission one would have to clear the NDA exam conducted by the UPSC Eligibility being 12th Science.A Graduate would appear for the CDSE Exam again conducted by the UPSC
Short-service commission by OTA(Officers Training Academy)- Chennai.Any graduate or 12th pass student are eligible. This is a service for a short duration, after completing their tenure, candidates are given a chance to renew and join permanent commission.

Defense sector is one of the sector in which many boys always dream to make their career.And yes defense sector really have a good,promising and prestigious career. The students who are passionate to serve their country and country people,can make a really great career.One must have a passion to work for the country this is the most important in this sector.
While one should be Physically fit,having good eyesight,height etc are the things that are strictly considered in the selection process of defense.
In Defense sector there are three sections in which you can make a career.Those sections are as follows-1.Army Section2.Navy Section3.Air Force Section.
All these sections are considered as Defense Sector. You have to select anyone section from these as per your area of interest.
In order to work in the defense sector there are the following ways in which one can join defense sector-
NDA- National Defense Academy-
One can give an NDA exams after completing or appeared 12th student.The age criteria for NDA exam is - 16years-19.5Years. If one wants to join Air Force or Navy they must have the subjects Physics and Maths in their 12th.So one needs to take science. While for Army there is no compulsory subjects.
This is the Permanent Commission provided by IMA (Indian Military Academy),Dehradun.
NCC-National Cadet Corps-
If you have been the active member of NCC in your school or college than you have an direct entry in the Army Section.
While you can also give Common Defense Service Examination after completing graduation from any stream for the officer post.
