Dear Jai,

Well no doing MBA after B.Tech does not affect your salary.

MBA is a post graduate course so a graduation degree is must for that, you can either do BBA, BCOM or B.Sc and still go for MBA.

Reasons you will find most of the engineering students clearing the MBA exams are:

1) MBA needs analytical and basic maths knowledge which comes easy to an engineering students. Hence for them cracking exam becomes easy.

2) Engineering is the most popular graduation course in India and so more number of students graduate as an engineer every year. And later they end up in MBA's as they are looking for more managerial careers.
