Hi Avril,
Well thats a bit complicated version of switching careers. You first need to understand what neuroscience is.Neuroscience is the in-depth study of the nervous system, it’s structure, function and behavior through a series of scientific and technological experiments and tests. Neuroscience was originally a part of biology, but with significant advances in science and technology over the past few decades, Neuroscience has emerged as a field of it’s own dedicated to the study of the nervous system.
So you see this is a highly complex stream of life science and medical science that deals with the brain and nervous system.
But a part of this has something that would be in your area of interest. This is known as computational Neuroscience.Computational neuroscience is the area of neuroscience that has progressed rapidly over the past few years. Computational neuroscientists use theoretical techniques such as data analysis, quantitative and mathematical modeling to understand and predict how the nervous system works. Within the engineering realm, students with backgrounds in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Biotechnology find easier to get into near science as compared to Mechanical Engineering.
In India only the highly prestigious institutes offer this course so the options are limited. However you can take into consideration destinations like USA where the education System follows a great deal of Diversity.
You can get back to me if you have other questions on the same. All the best!!
In order to post replies to the question: "Is it possible for me to pursue my masters in neuroscience after a bachelor's degree in electronic and telecommunication engineering?"
