More than the board, your score in the entrance exam and 12th is important.
Agreed that the entrance exam follows the CBSE pattern, but if you have atudied in the State board till 10th, shifting at this stage to the CBSE board would be tough to cope up with and at the sametime the board studies one level ahead than the SSC board, so you would have to study on your own the missed syllabus in your vacation to be in par with the CBSE board.
Hence, continue with the board you are in currently. No shifting at this crucial juncture. Rather best would be to join.coaching classes that would help you in your preparation.
Another solution is after 10th join.diploma in engineering. Two advantages here is that you skip the entrance exam and get a lateral entry into the 2nd year engineering degree course and secondly diploma is more of an industrial oriented practical course preferred in industries.
Choice is yours.
