Hello Mohanraj,
I.am a bit worried by your question here.
I would strongly recommend you to visit a Clinical or Counseling psychologists with your daughter. Unless and until she is ready for counseling nothing you do will work.
But before you are able to visit a counselor, some tips that could be helpful:
1. When you say negative, what does it mean. Is she giving up.studies and talking of failure, giving up social outings, or suicidal.
2. If suicidal, please do not leave her alone at any cost. Try talking to her at all times and assure her that you are with her at all times. Do not force her to study.
3. Make the environment friendly. Take a break.
4. Ask her what she wishes to do if not computer science. Ask her the reason she wishes to quit. Dont try to reason out with her at the moment. Slowly after few days when she seems relaxed communicate but no arguments or debate and no forcing her to agree with your view point
5. If needed take a break.
6. Approach the college principal or teacher for help.
7. If you know someone who works as a software professional ir systems manager, or someone related to her field, and he or she can expose her to the work profile by taking her to the office would give her a hands on rxperience or atleast if they can talk out to her. But mind you, should not be a family member.
Try and ease her pressure by diverting her mind as much as possible
Do write back.
Hope she has a speedy recovery
Wish you good luck...
Hi,
Possibly reasons can be she is not much interested to computer engg but maybe under some pressure she is pursuing the course. Or else there must be some peer pressure she must be going through and not discussing the same.
You can find out if she is interested in some other course and maybe once she completes her computer engg she can pursue her courses she is interested in.
Also she is a teenager and at this age there are many thoughts (influenced by ext sources) going on in her mind. Sit and talk to her.
Hope this helps.
Don't rush to offer advice or solutions right away. Sometimes your child just needs someone Block Blast who genuinely cares to share their feelings with
