Hi,

Petroleum Industry is one of the most growing industry in todays world. There is a good scope of petroleum engineering.Companies like Reliance,BPCL,HPCL,IOCL,ONGC Oil India Limited recruit petroleum engineer.

Petroleum engineering jobs have a bright future both in India and abroad.Petroleum engineering jobs offer new graduates exciting careers in the energy industry.Petroleum employment will grow as oil and gas projects accelerate world wide.

Petroleum engineering jobs will see rapid growth over the next decade as world wide demands for energy increases. As the recession eases ,the booming economies will join the rest of the developed world in competition for available energy supplies.

Now a days other energy sources are also being searched.During the time it takes for climate-friendly alternative energy technologies such as wind, solar and geothermal to mature and take over a greater role in the energy economy, crude oil and natural gas will be important transitional fuels since they emit less carbon di oxide than coal for the same amount of energy out put.Petroleum employment opportunities will be strong for workers in all phases of the oil and natural gas industry.

Be it national or international all the big players of oil companies, the major oil corporations and large independent oil and gas producers have aggressive plans for expansion in the near future.

Petroleum jobs will increase 18% over the next eight years ,which is far faster than the average growth expected in other occupations.

Oil and gas jobs for college graduates with petroleum engineering degrees will offer entry into challenging, rewarding careers helping to supply the world's energy needs.

I think i have answered your question to best of my knowledge.

BEST OF LUCK

Hi,

Greeting's for the day!!!

Despite the fact that petoleum engineering is an attractive and high paying career option, not much information is available on it. Typically, a petroleum engineering graduate is given the job to discover the natural sources of oil and examine the same. Similarly, developing the latest machines and equipments which can be used in the extraction and processing of oil is a part of the job of a petroleum engineer. Petroleum engineers have global career and are hired by global oil companies.

The Petroleum Engineering is divided into two parts:
1. Upstream Sector
2. Downstream Sector

1. Upstream Sector:
The Upstream Sector consists of activities like exploration, production and exploitation of oil and natural gases. After gaining a qualification in petroleum engineering, the engineers work in the exploration and production activities of petroleum and other related products. Using the latest drilling technology and geophysics for the exploration of oil reservoirs, they exploit the same for maximum output.

2. Downstream Sector:
The Downstream Sector consist activities such as the refining, marketing and distributing of petroleum products. Producttion is not onl th work carried out in a petroleum company and the job of petroleum engineer does not get over as the oil is produced, rather, it starts at this stage. Refining process is crucial for an oil product as then only it can be used. Marketing and distributing department may require a petroleum engineer to have some management degrees.

Job Prospects:
Career Prospectes are quite attractive in petroleum sectoras petroleum companies have great influence and offer attractive salaries to employees. The demand for petroleum and petroleum products is only expected to increase and the increase would lead to creation of new jobs. In fact, there is a great demand of effiecient petroleum egineers and almost every young graduate in petroleum engineering gets a job offer from petrol and gas companies from India and Overseas.

Whereasprivate petroleum companies offer attractive salaries to petroleum engineers, government sector oil and gas companies are not far behind in terms of paying attractive salaries and bonuses to employees.

As there is very less information on Petroleum Enginering Career with almost 100% Job Opportunities, there will be no Saturation of jobs as the demand for Oil and related products will goes on increasing which result in more employment opportunities.
