All streams have great prospects! It is the college and job role that you get after you complete your engineering which makes the prospects good or bad. So try and get the best colleges if you are unsure about the streams yet.
But streams do depend on your aptitude as well.
My batchmate from Computer Science got employed by BHEL and he is extremely happy even though the work at BHEL is not cutting edge computer engineering work. So there are other factors such as career growth, work environment and personal priorities which come into the picture as well.
I hope this answer helps in understanding this conundrum better.

-Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE): Software Developers, RF Engineers in electronics, Embedded Engineers, telecommunication, VLSI Designers, IT industry in government, semi-government and private sector
-Civil Engineering (CE): designing, supervision and construction of roads, building, bridges, canals, airports, dams, sewerage plants and railways

Some of the universities are proving scholarships and good placement opportunities.
