Hello There!

I am glad that you thought about this aspect and felt to enquire about various career options after electrical engineering! There are definitely many career options after electrical engineering, which are technical and non-technical too. I am glad that you approached CareerGuide.com for seeking clarification and guidance on your very right query.

As an Electrical Engineer, you definitely have a direct entry and scope in electrical jobs in the industry right from a trainee engineer to the top level of Technical Director or Technical Head. For being a technical head or director, you will need to have a work experience of atleast 20 years. Electrical jobs of technical nature are many and are very much imporant for any project to get completed, commissioned and handed over. Therefore the technical part need not be treated as a secondary and less important job.

Today in the construction industry, three types of engineers are mainly required.. which are Civil, Mechanical and Electrical. Without these or any of the these, any construction project cannot be completed as planned. Every stream of engineering has its own unique job to do and is distinct in nature.

However as per the current industry requirement and taking into consideration the industry has woken up to the need of other knowledge domain requirement, industry is expecting engineers today to learn construction and project management from the management angle rather than the core technical angle.

Construction and Project Management is the need area for the industry today and unfortunately the industry is unable to get such trained engineers for jobs. Learning Construction and Project Management from the business and management angle is the need of the hour and it is an excellent opportunity for engineers to make themselves different than the rest.

What is construction and project management can be explained in this diagram

Best Luck
