Dear Aspirant, you have not mentioned, which degree you have obtained, a bachelor or a master or a doctoral degree. From your question, it seems that you have bachelors degree and now you are looking for jobs.
A bachelor degree in Food Technology has great scope, specially in industrial sector. You can try in Food industries (Dabur and many more), dairy industry (Mother Dairy, Paras, etc.) , beverages industries (Mohan Meakin etc), meat industry and other industries involved in fermentation process. Depending upon your interest you have to choose the industry. Initially you have to work as trainee and later on you will be appointed as technical person. If you have masters degree in food technology (obviously with a specialized subject) then you can target a specific industry. Now a days India is exporting huge amount of food items, for this there are numerous industries involved in it. You may contact them or send your resume. I am sure some good company will definitely hire you. If you enter a company, you will be placed a first step, later your hard work will take you upstairs. Here I would like to suggest you, if you have only bachelor degree in food technology then while doing job, you can do MBA by correspondence. This will help you to look after management aspects of your job. Since on the basis of bachelor degree you can work as technical person, and to reach on the top, it will take quite long time. A degree in MBA will definitely make a dent in your career. Another thing I would like to suggest here is that, If you pursue, Masters degree, definitely after this you will have an edge over a bachelor degree holder person. Again a combination of Masters in Food technology and MBA will definitely broaden your career opportunities and future prospectus. Lets thing something even better now, if you pursue doctoral degree (obviously after MTech or M.Sc in Food Technology of Food Sciences), then you will have vast opportunities in Institutes and Universities in India and abroad. You can join as Assistant Professor or scientist or researcher. You will have freedom of research and guidance. Sky will be the limit to carry out your novel ideas into shape. You can develop new technologies in the field of Food Technology..Good Luck !!!
