I suggest the following for a firm understanding of fundamental digital and analog electronics:

1. Microelectronic Circuits: Adel S. Sedra, K. C. Smith

2. The Art of Electronics: Paul Horowitz, Winfield Hill

These drift boss books are among my favorites and are quite well-liked. These two volumes are typically kept by professors or engineers who build circuits. There are numerous other books that are well-known for their minute details but are formulaic. If you haven' rel="nofollow"t read the two books I described above, you would literally get bored to tears reading such formula-heavy works. After studying those two books, the majority of circuits will appear lot simpler to you, and you will have a solid understanding of what each circuit accomplishes. You should read these two books before moving on to anything else, in my opinion.
