Homeopathy is a system of medicine, in which a drug and a disease that produce similar symptoms cancel each other out in some way thereby restoring the patient's to health. They are trained to view patients holistically and to apply treatment according the individual needs, reactions and modalities of patients. They take detailed case history of their patients and do a physical examination then make a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate homeopathic medicines. In homeopathy remedy is chosen based on the symptoms as well as the character and temperament of the patient. After 12th with physics , chemistry and biology one can do an undergraduate programme in homeopathy such as BHMS or Diploma in Homeopathy medicine and surgery. The duration of bachelor course is 5.5 years including one year internship. whereas the duration of diploma course is four years. The job opportunities are there in India as well abroad for homeopathy graduates. They can get job as medical officer with private or government homeopathy hospitals
