Good communication skills; which include Reading, writing (E-mail, reports) Presentation Skills, Inter - Personal skills etc will really help.
Apart from which; Executive skills like "Teamwork, Leadership, Decision Making, Planning, Conflict Management, Problem solving, Resource Management and stress management" will come in handy in the course of executing your work.
If one is into research or design; then creativity is a major pre-requisite.
These skills are required for all engineers.
