For all the aspiring class 12 students who wish to pursue law, should have a look at the top colleges for law in India with their details.

1.National Law School of India University, Bangalore.

NLSIU, Bangalore offers various law courses to students at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate (PhD) level. Students can also look for law programmes in distance mode from NLSIU.

For admission in UG course, students should have basic qualification of HSC/Intermediate (10+2) or any other equivalent exam from any recognised board. The eligibility criteria for the PG course are that students should possess LLB degree or an equivalent qualification from an acknowledged university.

 

2.Law Centre-1, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.

Law Faculty is one of the most prestigious institution, that offers, ‘full time’ LL.B Programme. Admissions for the same are held through application for the Entrance Test which is organised in the second or the third week of June each year, the qualification is Graduation from a UGC recognised university.

3.NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

The university offers law programmes to students at the undergraduate,  postgraduate and doctorate (PhD) level. it also has a distance education wing, NALSAR Proximate Education (NALSAR Pro) that offers Post Graduate Diploma courses in Patents Law, cyber laws, Media Laws and International Humanitarian Laws.

Students are eligible for admission in UG courses if they have passed their Higher Secondary School Examination or any equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST category) from any recognised board. For PG courses, students should have a minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in their undergraduate law course.

  1. Symbiosis Law School, Pune

There is a wide range of courses offered by SLS, Pune 5 YEARS in undergraduate, diploma and EULS. The admission process holds mandatory for the students to appear for SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test), the details of which can be seen on their official website.

  1. Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar

GNLU offers law courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate (PhD) level to students. It also offers Online programmes and courses to students such as – Diploma in Internet Law & Policy, Diploma Programme in Advanced Entrepreneurship Management and Corporate Laws, Certificate Programme in Contract Drafting and Certificate Programme in Legislative Drafting, Diploma in Sports Law Diploma in Intellectual Property: Law and Management. Students can apply for admission in UG courses after passing 10+2 or any equivalent exam with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks whereas SC/ST students are eligible if they have secured a minimum 40% mark. For PG courses, students should have passed their LLB or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST students) from any recognised university.

  1. Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) offers a wide variety of degree and diploma courses to students at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate (PHD) levels. The courses explore various streams like Accounting & Commerce, Medicine & Health Sciences Science, Law, Humanities & Social Sciences Business & Management Studies, and Engineering.  Admission- For Class XII students, they should have cleared the exams with a minimum required percentage, prescribed by AMU for UG course admissions. For PG, students should have cleared their undergraduate degree from a recognised institution.

 

  1. ILS Law College, Law College Road, Pune

ILS offers various undergraduate, autonomous and diploma courses and the admission is sought through a Common Entrance test, the details of which can be seen on their official website.

  1. Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU)

 It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level law courses to students such as – B.A. LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD Law programme. Admission can be sought for Unreserved/Specially Abled Persons (SAP)/ OBC and other category students should secure a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in their 10+2 or any equivalent exam for admission in UG course. SC/ST students are eligible if they secure a minimum 40% marks. For post-graduation course admissions, aspirants should have a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in their qualifying exam. Reservations are made for SC/ST/OBC and other category students.

  1. Faculty of Law, Jamia Milia Islamia

Various courses are offered at undergraduate, postgraduate and Doctorate levels.

The admission to Jamia Milia Islamia is through university level entrance examination i.e., JMI BA LLB 2017, for admissions to the five-year Integrated programmes.

  1. School of Law Christ University (SLCU, Bangalore)

Courses are offered at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. For admissions, applications are available online on the official website with all the details.  There are reservations for International Student Category (Foreign National / OCI / PIO)/ NRI Student.
