Dear Aspirant,

Nice to know your aspiration for studying Law and become a law professional.

Doing Law after 12th is actually an ideal way to get into the Law field.

You can definitely do Five Year Integrated Law Course. The combinations are BA LLB or BBA LLB or BSL LLB.

You will have to appear for CLAT which is the Common Entrance Test for Law courses in India and aim for getting into the top Law Institutes as listed above.

You can also appear for individual University Common Entrance Test for Law if you wish to study Law from your city/State.

One more option I would suggest is to think for Company Secretaryship course of ICSI. www.icsi.edu. This course you may be aware that it deals with core Corporate Law and Secretarial Practice. This is professional course too.

Best wishes

Hi Dheeraj,

Basically there are two types of LLB (Bachelor of legislative law) offered on the basis of educational qualification and the duration of same course.

One of the LLB course offered for three years for students having a bachelor's degree and other is the LLB course is offered for five year for students having senior secondary degree.

So being done your 12th you are eligible for the LLB five course for which there is no provision of minimum percentage marks required in the 12th to pursue the same course from many private universities with low rating. But for pursuing of this course from National Law universities you have to compete and qualify the CLAT (Common law admission test) examination.

Eligibility crietaria for CLAT Exam:

  • You must have done 12th with any discipline from a recognized board with at least 50% aggregate in the same.
  • Also your age must not exceed 20 years.
