Banking sector is one of the growing sector in India. There has been a drastic change in the Banking System in the last 10-15 years.Earlier the banking system was completely based on manual system but with the age development there has been introduction of Technology in order to get the work done fast and steady and also give a relief to the Manual work. While there are many other various services provided by the Banks to the customers for the easy work processes;services like Mobile Banking,Internet Banking etc.
In order to provide these services very well bank needs a skilled human resource to complete these tasks. Eventually all this has led to the great career opportunities in the Banking Sector.In order to get into Banking Sector one needs to give Institute of Banking Personal Selection i.e IBPS. In order to be eligible for this exam one must have completed the Graduation Degree in any stream and Engineering degree for some of the designations. While you have different designations to which you can apply like Clerk,Probationary Officer (PO),Specialist Officer.
While as an fresher the salary that is offered to the Bank Officer can be ranging around including the Basic Salary + Dearness Allowance+ Housing Rent Allowance etc. it goes around Rs.30,000 per month while you the salary increases as you give the internal exams of promotion and as per the CLASS I,II etc. the salary is increased.

You can become a Banking Officer in private banks and public sector banks.
Public sector banks conduct recruitment through IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection), which is under the Ministry of Finance and RBI. You can get employed in public sector banks by either appearing for Probationary Officers (PO), Specialist Officers (Experienced people) or Clerks. You can also apply for Grade A, B Officers post in RBI.
Private sector banks conduct their own entrance tests, interviews independently. For this education qualifications which are most demanded are CA, CS, CWA, MBA, CFA.
Salary offered to public sector employees depends on their position. For freshers PO get around Rs. 30,000 per month. For other positions it starts from Rs 15,000-20,000 per month.
