Hi Rahul,

The answer to your question lies in the title itself.

Imagine a situation wherein, whatever you hear or see, if they reach you all in a jumbled up way, without editing, without proper sound etc, would you be able to like that or would you be interested in that kind of a show.

Here steps in a Broadcast engineer.

They are the ones who would be mainly involved in the transmission of sound through microphones used, transmission of the video which involves the camera functioning, other electrical instruments used for the news to reach the audiences is managed by a Broadcast engineer.

They are also responsible for instantaneous updates and live pictures that flashes across our screens from any part of the world.

Just to summarize their Job role:

  • They setup studio equipment needed for editing and transmitting the information to the viewers
  • Setting up the audio and video circuits
  • Installing of various applications needed for smooth functioning right from multimedia used, hardwares and softwares used.
  • Setting up and operating links between channels and media house
  • vision mixing (editing programmes live as they are being transmitted or recorded)
  • Testing and maintenance of available machines and instruments
  • in-case of certain errors, they are responsible to identify the issue and take actions ASAP, to help reduce losses

As such since this field is completely related to media, but behind the scenes, you would have to apply directly to such industries through various job portals like Naukri, monster etc.
Or you can directly post in your Resume to various companies online or send it to their postal address.
In-case if someone can refer you that would be an added advantage.

Mostly channels advertise on their websites for such vacancies or they hire people through references.
So build up contacts as much as you can to land up in your dream job.
Hope this helps.

Wish you good luck..........
