This is a very common confusion in the minds of the students and parents too. Basically you need to understand that AICTE is a governing body for technical courses like engineering, management, pharmacy, etc. A University is a statutory body which conducts the courses, examinations and awards degrees and convocations. AICTE cannot award a degree but a University can. In India Management courses are regulated by both AICTE and Statutory Universities and also through Deemed Universities. Courses like PGDBM, PGDM, etc are approved by AICTE and these courses are offered by Institutes and not Universities. An MBA needs to be offered only University affiliated and recognised Institutes
The Mumbai University that has been approved will be far superior, in my opinion. But I believe it is worthwhile to utilize the college's resources https://www.dnpcapstoneproject.com/ This will save time that could be used to develop a cool product.
