I had recently given my boards of class 10th from ICSE board .I had decided to prepare for IIT. But the problem is that I had shifted to a rural area where there r no good local coaching for particular subjects. So I decided to take coaching for IIT JEE preparation in a city . but few people suggested me to start IIT coaching after 12th. Currently I m finding many difficulties with the local school and so im unable to study here . should I take IIT coaching right now or after 12th. I m at a distance of 200km from indore city . I should take IIT coaching from kota or indore . if at indore /kota ,then in which institute

Hi,If you are really focused for IIT then my suggestion is to start your preparation from Std 11th. This is the Best time to start because 1. Syllabus is NCERT 11th & 12th for the Entrance Exam.2. Starting from begining of 11th with give you an extra edge over late starters because the preparation has to be done in two phases a. Indepth understanding of each and every concepts at the board level first and then at a much deeper level. b. Once concept building is perfected you atsrt learning the Applications because that is what they will be asking in the Entrance exam.Both a & b points can happen one after the other when you start to prepare from 11th itself.
So keeping in mind both the points my suggestion is start from 11th . My suggestion for after 12th goes only for students who are reappearing for the second time.
or , If you are an aggressive student and very clear about your Goals and Aptitude as well, then decide for after 12th and further can plan for Kota.
Now your question is which Institute?
Some Pointers...1. Institute Having competant Faculty subjectwise prefably Alumini of premier Engineering Institues.2. Teaching Format- Focus schould be on concept building rather than giving Shortcuts. Because Exams like JEE Advanced do not repeat questions i.e. every year it is almost a brand new paper. So if your concepts are rock solid application comes naturally. Then only thing you will have to do is do lots and lots of Problems in each and every topics in PCM .3. Rigorous Testing with time Limits because Time Management skills has to be very much perfected.4. Seek for an institute who focus on Individual students.
