1. Scope for government job. (Here I assume are you asking scope after doing Masters in Pol Science or English)

Scope of Political Science for Government Jobs:
One can work for a Government, a think tank (research organisation), a non-profit organisation, a political lobby group, college or university, or even a business house. Some of the areas include:

Public Administration (Civil Service Exam):
You can prepare for Indian Foreign Service (IFS) who work with Government's Foreign Department, can work as Ambassador, Dimplomat. Its prestigious job. You can prepare for UPSC/ Civil Service Exam after graduation with Political Science as major. Its competitive and preparing right from entering into graduate study helps. Political Scientist (Freelance Consultant):
After Masters and MPhil, you can work as a Political Scientist. A political scientist conducts surveys, analyses election results, interview relevant individuals and scrutinise available documentation. Some even attend legal proceedings and observe public events. Other tasks include:

• Consulting work with governmental officials. Identifying, researching, analyzing and advocating public
  issues.
• Write reports and documents, articles for publications in the newspapers, magazines and journals
• Advisors to the constitutional posts as the President, the Governor etc.

Academics:
After doing graduation or masters in Pol Science, major scope is in academics. After doing BEd after graduation or masters,you can get opportunities as teacher in Government schools.

It is good that you want to make career in poltics. Indian politics need young and enthusiastic politicians.
You can start working on political issues by writing about local political issues in news papers, or volunteering your preferred political party in your area. You can start interacting with people, understand their problems and study how Government system and political system can address people's issues.

You may stand for college students' election, or become student union leader. As suggested by Dr. Anand Wadadekar, you can work for your local ward and then carry your political career.
