Hi Anisa,
As you have said, you are ambitious and are angry the way you have chosen to lead your career, lucky you, to get another chance.
As you have mentioned, you would be shifting to the USA post marriage, you get another chance.
You need to get US certified to practice as a Dr in the USA. Apply for a Residency program there. But mind you, you would have to repeat a year, the final year to get certified as USA licenced doctor. After that you could opt for a specialization
Hope this helps.Wish you good luck...........
Dear Anisa,
Thanks for writing your query to www.careerguide.com!
I appreciate your actions to work on your career. You are concerned about your career. It sounds you are disturbed at present in relation to your career progress. As far as your career is concerned you have pretty good work experience as a practitioner. You could not do MD and learn gynecology that might put you at low. As you already mentioned, your high expectations is creating a problem. Is marriage creating a stress? I hope your marriage is with your consent and you are happy about it.
Well, you don't need to worry for two reasons, (1) marriage (2) opportunity to begin your study in USA and fulfil your expectations.
You can not practice with existing degree in USA, you need to give exam in respective State and then practice. BAMS is not recognized degree so you need to do course either in medicine or alternative medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy. DO is fully licensed in US and you can practise in US. Your BAMS supplement the course, however you should have done all the pre-medicine courses (College level Biology, Chemistry, Math and Physics) and take MCAT. Admission in DO is not tough. Best Wishes for an exciting career ahead!
