Do I have career in Windows Storage Technology?

See I asked same question before but I did not get any answer. So I am asking It in diffrent way, I am going to work with and for HP as Windows Storage Trainee for next 2 years(It is a legal signed by me as commitment to their company). So I just had doubts whether I will come out from their with great success in my hands or just nothing. What is that Storage Technology about? and What is its significance in HP? Plus one more thing is disturbing me is that they are not going to give me any travel allowance if in case they transfer me to some other branch. is that something to be suspicious about.

Dear student,

I answered your other question on this topic just yesterday. Just to clarify again, Windows Storage Technology is an IT related job to do with IT service management. So it would be a job similar to database management.

You have mentioned some additional queries here, so let me explain it to you in detail again.

Generally companies have large amounts of data which they are unable to manage and store. Also they might have issues with security of this huge amount of data. Therefore technologies are being developed as solution for managing this data. This can be done inthe most basic way by attaching HDDs to the server to store extra data or on more higher scale like Network Attached Storage. So as a trainee in this field you will be dealing with creating such storage solutions for companies.

As for the significance of this job for HP, from your post it is unclear if you will be providing this storage management service to HP through your primary employer, or you will be working on projects that HP takes. Now-a-days, many companies, instead of taking employees on payroll, for whom they have to pay all perks like PF, travel, medical, etc., they outsource their service by employing a trainee or contractual employee from other, smaller companies, so that that person need not be paid all these extra things.

So going by what you have explained, I think you will be a contractual employee wrking at HP on their projects in this field. On paper you will still be an employee of your original employer. The downside of such contractual jobs is the absence of perks like travel, medical etc. But going by the current market scenario, it is a good option for beginners like you so that you enter the job market, and slowly you can work your way up. There is a possibility that in future you may be converted to HP payroll as well.

Hope this help you in taking a decision.

Good luck!

A trusted device is a device that a user has previously used to go through the Duo authentication process on a workstation, and which is configured to be a known device in the Admin Panel. When a user uses this device to logon or unlock the workstation while offline, Duo for Winlogon & RDP 2FA https://www.protectimus.com/guides/winlogon-rdp/ assumes that device is still trusted and does not prompt for a secondary authentication.
