Hello,

I am working as a financial analyst in a private company and I do have a academic background in the same field, to relate with your query about the importance of academic records for a job in the same field is necessary.
Yes, of course, you need to have a academic background in the same field to get a job of investment analyst.all companies while doing recruitment will definitely highlight some minimum requirement to be fulfilled by the applicants before applying you need to check. this is a standard process followed by all while hiring people.
Working as a financial analyst and having background in the same field I personally feel it is very helpful as my basics about my job is clear and I do have a strong hold on my subject and perform my duty better as compared to those who do not have related background. It really counts if you a good background in work what you are going to do in future.
Even private companies do take it seriously while hiring people that they have relevant background and academics in the same.Apart from all this if you do not have proper background for the job, than your resume itself will be rejected in the first phase of starting hiring that is screening process and you cannot even go further.
No point in thinking and asking whether academic record matters or not to work as a investment analyst.as it is a field related to finance and to move ahead in ladder you at least need to have some basic qualifications like B.Com graduate which is I think is minimum you should have to know the basics of the filed of work.
If you are having a good track record and having a legible background in investment filed, your scores and grades are good, you will always have a plus point above others and your chances of selection will be very high, it will count as to get good scores its not easy you need to work hard which will reflect your dedication and commitment level to your work.
When you are good in all aspects no body can ignore you in hiring process and your chances of getting the job will be above all other applicants. You can mark your presence and show a good impression in the selection process itself. Above all it will build your confidence level and you can create a good impression in the interview process.

Thank you.
