There are lots of branch in engineering and every branch have its own value and importance , If you ask someone else that which branch we choose it will not good for you because one can be a good engineer only if he/she have interest to do so else he/she will get passing marks and go for small level job. First Ask yourself which subject you like the most or where you want to see yourself in future in which industries.
In my opinion you can go for computer science engineering as its a very good courses and a girl can handle and do it easily with interest , she can go for higher studies in computer science also and can get good job with top MNCs.
Now about the institution
In India IITs are best in all the way and if you get change to go there it will be great
NIT are also very good.
In the last only Hardwork will give you result weather you are in IIT or any other Institute.

Looks like you are interested engineering but seem a bit biased. Choosng a specialization which is girl oriented does not seem good to me. If this is the case then please note engineering is a male oriented field. You can opt for ARTS stream which is purely female oriented.
Please do not go with this thinking. Girls if passionate can work in any field they like . Hence I disagree with the above counselor for you to choose Computer science as a specialization.
Rather I would suggest read about the different specialization and what it entails in terms of skills and knowledge and job profile. This will help you make a choice.
