Dear shivam
Hello Shivam,
I am sure the above counselor to whom you spoke has properly guided you.
I would just like to add that, sit down and think calmly, where you would like to direct your career option.
Career is not like an option choice. If not "A", then "B". Though we often advise, choose a second option, but it should be from the same stream and not two different streams like what you have chosen, Engineering and civil service exams. eg. If you are unable to clear JEE, you could opt for either a degree in IT or Computer science or BCA, which is linked to engineering.
Ideally sit and do a self introspection, where you would like to direct your line of interest. Not that an engineering student cant opt for Civil service exams. And main point here is that, to appear for Civil service exams (IAS), you need to be a Graduate. So first prepare for your Graduation. Get sailing and then prepare for IAS if interested
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
